The President of The United States;
The Honorable Senator, Assemblywoman, Assemblyman, Congresswoman, Congressman, New York State Governor, and New York City Mayor;
The New York County District Attorney;
Dear Elected Officials:
I write to you concerning ongoing issues adversely impacting a class of identified citizens: law-abiding Black Americans, who are descendants of slaves - our issues do not touch or concern immigration.
I have previously reached out to you on multiple occasions and by multiple methods, calculated to ensure that communications were not inadvertently overlooked or dismissed: no such aid or relief has been granted for myself or for others, sharing my race and nationality, for whom I have written.
To date, I myself have encountered blatant ineffective assistance from the New York Police and District Attorneys in reporting criminal acts, to include rape and physical violence, where a perpetrator was identified or such identity could have been ascertained because of a clear paper trail, video or photographic evidence. This dereliction of duty by state protection officers and United States elected officials has spanned more than seventeen years of my life, and is ongoing as of the date of my letter.
By continued inaction, disparate and adverse treatment of issues brought to your attention by members of this identified class of citizens, you are willfully legalizing separate and unequal racist and unlawful treatment of law-abiding Black American descendants of slaves, which you have been elected to represent.
To add insult to injury, your offices continue to prioritize the rights, injuries, and well-being of non-American citizens, some of whom are unlawfully residing in the United States. Your prioritization sends a clear message: Black Americans, lawful citizens, are second class citizens in the United States. Meanwhile, your justification for aiding non-citizens over Americans refers to the same persecution which I have made you aware is active, ongoing, and unredressed against law-abiding Black Americans under the jurisdictions which you govern.
I hold your offices accountable and responsible for the continued injustice, violence, and the disparate adverse treatment of Black Americans who are law-abiding citizens. Unless and until you possess a bullet-proof, unimpeachable record of equal and equitable treatment of Black American descendants of slaves – who are distinct from Black immigrants – I will not support your re-election, or any endeavor in which you, your spouses, heirs, and supporters are part of. Law-abiding members of my race are dying and suffering because of your great incompetence and willful blindness: it is anti-American, anti-Christian, anti-Catholic, immoral, unjust, hypocritical, distasteful, disdainful, and untenable.
The role of white women under the failure of state sponsored services, to include – initiatives covering domestic violence and rape, cannot be understated: in fact, a white or Hispanic woman has been at the helm of every instance of an injustice, or wrongful denial of civil or human rights where I have personally been a named member of the injured class. [White or Black immigrant women have been at the helm of every injustice I have personally witnessed or reviewed concerning a work-related issue, where and when the aggrieved party was a law-abiding Black American descendant of U.S. government sanctioned slavery.] The facts pertaining to race and ethnic origin are necessary, so that you understand how you and your offices are failing Black Americans, females in particular. It isn’t enough to simply hire more women. It is evident from my lived experience that you are hiring the wrong women or placing them in the wrong communities to serve a public function. As a result, Black Americans are suffering – and being denied justice and services available to others.
I have been polished, polite, and patient with you all in my writings and dealings. Indeed, seventeen years awaiting justice for myself, not to mention that I am descended of a family of strong Black women who have also pleaded with elected U.S. officials for justice, never succeeding in actually being treated equal to our non-Black and non-immigrant peers. So, my patience has rightfully come to an end, and my anger is righteous. My persistent call for justice and accountability will yield the fruit of justice, redress, recompense, and accountability for all who continue to oppose equity and equality. As far as law-abiding Black American descendants of slaves are concerned, your offices have been successful only in issuing mere words and lip service on justice and equity for all – inclusive of Black American descendants of slaves. I urge you to redress this.
What you will find about me, if you check, is that I am just, fair, and a friend to all whose character is morally and lawfully unimpeachable. I am also, however, a fierce advocate and a force to be reckoned with who will fight until her dying breath if innocent people suffer because of your actions or inactions. I am not derelict in my duty to bring to your attention issues which you have within your power to redress.
It is my hope that each of you will search your hearts and offices and purge each of the incompetence and malice which permits issues brought to you by law-abiding Black Americans to be shuffled into the waste basket or furnace to be ignored or destroyed. Presently, the laws and regulations which you champion do not serve or apply to me equitably as a Black American female in America who is not an immigrant.
I remain at the ready to serve my country in any manner in which I may be of service. However, any service to my country cannot come at the expense of law-abiding Black Americans who have already given above the call of duty without a just return for that service.
I will thank you for your service when a service has indeed been rendered.
Sincerely,
Theresa
