Feminine is Strong
I ran my first marathon after a Marine superior claimed I couldn't run 3 miles. (Of course I had just formally reported the repeated failure of base leadership to cure ongoing misconduct against Black and female Marines.) Three weeks later I ran my second marathon.
I haven't stopped running.
Strong NOT Skinny
INSPIRATION: Courage is not the absence of fear. Courage is refusing to quit in the face of great upheaval.
SAFETY: I have never quit a race. However, I train like a Marine (with safety in mind); I train to overcome.
ROUTINE: I run 4 - 7 days per week. I always have a backup workout in my day planner; I train throughout the day.
MOTIVATION: I run for causes that I believe in. When I am slowing down, or want to stop, I think of loved ones.
PHOTOGENIC: There's a lot of fun, creativity, and photo perfect moments that take place behind-the-scenes.
MODEL: Theresa Giovanna. Athletics is beautiful and personally rewarding [you have to remember why you're there].
WORKOUT: Endurance, strength, dance, flexibility, stretching, speed and intensity training keeps it interesting.
HINT: It's on you. Fitness pals are great, but only you will be responsible for your success or failure.
